The Fun Fair truck is driven by a melancholy clown, the one-eyed dancing girls stand at the hatch of an ice cream truck (with severed fingers seemingly advertised on the sides), and the Circus truck is driven by a black-eyed miserable figure. As with many of Jim’s studies of humans, their strange depictions leave unanswered questions hanging in the air, and a sense of the lonely and surreal. While no humans are evident, the yellow toy boat in stormy seas and driving rain suggests an unseen number, in trouble at sea.
