Roadside Flowers

The influence of Van Gogh is very clear in these medium sized canvasses of road-sized flowers. In fact, the flowers are small daisies that have been enlarged in their portrayal and placed in a vase. These paintings invite us to give the same care and attention to these small flowers as to those expensive ones presented in flower displays. This is a clear echo of Van Gogh’s desire to re-present the sunflowers in a different context.
